Frequently Asked Questions

Artwork

  • Please send us a 300dpi high resolution PDF, in your ordered size (A4, A5 or Novel size - 198mm x 129mm) and with the relevant crop & bleed marks.

    We always recommend supplying a PDF as it produces the best print output. Our Design Team will always send you a digital proof, followed by a hard copy proof so please check this carefully before proceeding with your order.

  • You can upload your files to our system once you have placed your order - or via this link here.

    We require a high resolution PDF, at the ordered size (A4, A5 or our Novel size (198mm x 129mm) in CMYK colour mode, in the running order (so front page as page 1, followed by the inners in the order they are read, followed by the back page)

  • Most publishing software will give you the ability to export your PDF with these marks, which are used by our production team to trim down your artwork.

    Crop marks highlight where the paper is cut, and bleed marks shows the areas that will be ‘bleeding’ off the edge of the page (images, backgrounds, solid colours etc).

    If you are unable to add these, our Design Studio team will be happy to help and sort this out for you.

  • We print in CMYK, so if your document contains any vibrant RGB colours, please be aware that these will look very different once printed.

    Please convert all colours to CMYK before supplying your artwork. If you are unsure how your colours will appear, we always send you a hard copy sample first to make sure all is well before we proceed.

  • Yes, you will receive a digital copy proof of your book before we proceed to production, and we will send you a hard copy version, too. We want to make sure you are absolutely happy with everything before we proceed with your order.

  • We advise you check your files carefully before you upload them - looking out for any missing text, spellchecking and proof-reading.

    Once you have received your hard copy proof, check that all pages have been included and they are in the correct running order (front page, inners, back page).

    Our Design Studio will filecheck your supplied files and will inform you of any issues, including any low resolution images, if any text/image is too close to the edge etc) however please be aware, we do not check for design, content or spelling errors.

    If something needs to be corrected, we will ask you to resupply the file with the correction made.

  • Our Design Studio will check your files against the order you have made, ensuring it is the correct size and page count. We can also check for any low resolution elements and will inform you before production.

    The team will also be able to calculate your spine width and can provide you with a template for this.


Payments

  • You can pay online using Stripe, or with a PayPal account.

  • If you have placed an order with us and would like to cancel it for any reason, please let us know as soon as possible.

    If we have not started the production process, we can discuss your options. However if the printing has commenced, we may not be able to offer a full refund and costs may be incurred.

  • When you place an order with us, we will automatically email you an order confirmation, with all the details you will need.


Delivery

  • We currently offer UK-only deliveries with our trusted courier, APC. If you are within a 20 mile radius of our HQ in Maidstone, Kent, we are able to offer delivery via our company van.

  • We understand the importance of a smooth and cost-effective shopping experience for our customers. That's why we are delighted to offer FREE delivery on all orders via our trusted courier, APC. With APC's reliable services, your order will be swiftly and securely delivered to your doorstep without any additional shipping charges.

  • Once you are completely happy with your digital and hard copy proof and everything is approved, your order will be delivered between 5 - 7 working days.

  • Absolutely, as long as you use the same customer account for both orders, we will see both orders on the system and ship them both together.

  • If you have not received your order in the timeframe you expected it in, please get in contact with our team who will be able to provide you with tracking details.
